Ethno-medicine, chemistry and bio-activity of tropical African fungi
Fungi are excellent factories for enzyme synthesis. They produce enzymes capable of dismantling the most complex carbon molecules, making them excellent catalysts for dead organic matters. Tropical fungi are recognized for their high potential of bioactive compounds with inhibitory effects on several microbes. It is obvious that they can be good allies on various levels, ranging from stationery store to the food and cosmetic industry, in the site remediation, but also excellent candidates for the pharmaceutical industries drug development programs. At the local level, ethnomycological works undertaken in Benin and in tropical Africa reported on a great number of species with various therapeutic properties. The ultimate goal of the research carried out to demonstrate the potential of fungi in the strengthening of national health systems. Here we will:
- study the enzymatic activities and anti-infection effect of fungi, particularly in Polypores,
- study the biological activities, natural products and interactions with microbes,
- Uses of Mushrooms in traditional medicine, including diseases spectra.
