Objectives

The ultimate goal of MyTIPS is to contribute to the improvement of teaching and research qualities at the University of Parakou (UP). For this to be achieved, MyTIPS offers research aspects, offered nowhere else in Benin and in West Africa. MyTIPS attempt to diversify the training program at the UP with a particular focus on functional diversity of fungi and their interactions with the environment. Our research activities provide a wide range of application possibilities based on fungal resources, that still remained undisclosed, to offer fungi-based solutions to various environmental, health, agricultural, forestry and food problems. MyTIPS attempts to provide answers to the following questions: How to mitigate the harmful effects of fungi on the environment? What potential applications can be made from the functional diversity of tropical fungi What interactions exist between fungi and their environment? What roles are played by fungi in the current climate change context? What would be the contribution of wild fungi to the well-being of African populations in terms of food, nutrition and therapy?
